Who we are?

At Taza (Fresh in Urdu) we endeavour to give you a great dining experience. Chef Arshad has created a great menu with some of the old classics and some modern twists. Our food is backed up by knowledgeable and friendly floor staff who will take care of you.

Along with our cuisine, we have some of the best craft beers & wines on the market. We also have a classy cocktail list to boot.

We are committed to using as much Irish produce as possible and have some great dedicated suppliers.

All of our meat is Irish and we use free-range chicken in some of our dishes.

We are committed to Charity and make regular contributions to http://www.sultanulhindtrust.ie who help homeless people in Ireland & Pakistan.

Arshad Ansari
Partner & Head Chef

Arshad hails from the metropolis of Karachi. Ever since he was a child, from his mam’s kitchen to the buzzing markets, he has loved cooking and always wanted to be a chef.He started his training as a 19-year-old in The Sheraton Hotel in Karachi. After a year he became a commis chef and spent 5 years looking after the Coffee Shop Kitchen.In his spare time, he learned butchery skills and travelled up and down Pakistan learning local and regional cuisine. Fancies himself as a great spin bowler! He moved to Ireland in 2002 and worked as head chef of kinara restaurant until 2018. He is married to Farah and they have three children: Aliza, Unaisah and Aabis.

Padraig Connellan
Partner

Hailing from a third generation of publicans Padraig began working in the hospitality industry at 15. After finishing his degree in Economics and Sociology in NUI, Maynooth he did a postgraduate diploma in Communications. He then headed off to Oz for a couple of years where he worked in bars & building sites in order to fund his travels. In 2001 after a stint in TV3 on his return to Ireland he opened The Watermill Pub & Restaurant and has traded there ever since. In 2015 he bought the Roundabout pub. He is married to Catherine and they have four children: Chloe, Daisy, Kitty & Paddy.

Faraz Khan
Restaurant Manager

The front-of-house man. Faraz arrived in Ireland from Karachi in 2001. He has bucket loads of customer service experience. He obtained a commerce degree and a diploma in Computer Graphics in Pakistan before arriving here. He has worked in many ethnic restaurants & will take care of you like you are his family. He has great knowledge of eastern cuisine and is also very knowledgeable in matching wines & cocktails. Fancies himself as a bit of an actor after receiving an Interactive Media Production diploma. He is married to Rehma and they have one daughter Abeer & a son Azaan.
